USES
CHEM-TOP 950 is designed for medium to heavy duty floors where durable, attractive, water and chemical resistance protection against bacterial growth and alkali corrosion are essential.
CHEM-TOP 950 can be used on interior or exterior floor surfaces subject to abrasive wear in continual contact with water and exposed to corrosive (mild alkali or acid) conditions, like:
- Food processing plants.
- Meat packing plants.
- Schools.
- Shipping areas.
- Terraces.
- Parking decks.

TECHNICAL
CHEM-TOP 950 contains pure, carefully graded silica aggregates for durable, dust-free attractively colored floors designed for medium to heavy duty service. It provides the owner the dust-proof protection four times more than quality concrete.

APPLICATION
First Shake: after placing maximum 4 inch (10 cm) slump concrete, screed and float (not power float). When surface water glaze has disappeared, uniformly distribute approximately 2/3 of the total specified CHEM-TOP 950 hardener. Avoid throwing, which may cause separation, resulting in non-uniform hardness, non uniform color and non uniform finish. Allow CHEM-TOP 950 time to absorb slab water, making the slab cement paste and the CHEM-TOP 950 a monolthilic system. Wood floats just enough to bring water through the shake.
Second Shake: apply evenly the remainder 1/3 of CHEM-TOP 950 at right angles when water glaze disappears from the first shake. Allow CHEM-TOP 950 to absorb water. Float in the same manner as the first shake until water comes completely through the second shake.
Troweling: when surface has stiffened and water glaze is gone, begin troweling to an even plane, free of surface marks and voids. Keep trowel blades flat. DO NOT OVERWORK. Hand trowels all pinholes and trowel marks.
The uniformity in colored CHEM-TOP 950 is application oriented and demands control and consistency for best results. International Chem-Crete
can not be responsible for diluted or mottled color resulting from improper shake application, finishing, curing or failure to protect finished floor from damage by construction trades. Minimize troweling on hot and windy days.
CHEM-TOP 950 is to be carefully and evenly placed after the surface is set sufficiently to carry an applicator’s weight and surface water glaze is gone.
For trouble free applications, ACI recommendations for concrete practices should be followed:
- ACI 304 for measuring, mixing, transporting, and placing concrete.
- ACI 305 for hot weather concreting.
- ACI 306 for cold weather concreting.
- ACI 308 for curing concrete.
Curing: for best results, apply CHEM-SEAL 30-WB water-based sealer in accordance with products application instructions after final trowling of CHEM-TOP 950 and after surface water glaze has disappeared. Don’t cure wet cure CHEM-TOP 950 by ponding water for the first 24 hours of application.
Limitations: Do not add cement, plasticizer, or accelerator to CHEM-TOP 950.
Cleaning: tools, equipment, etc. can be cleaned immediately using clean water.
STORAGE
Store CHEM-TOP 950 in cool dry storage facilities. Do not expose to direct sunlight. The shelf life of CHEM-TOP 950 is minimum 1 year if stored in a cool dry place in its original unopened container.
SAFETY
CHEM-TOP 950 is a non-flammable and non-toxic in nature. Avoid contact with eyes and skin as it may cause irritation due to its alkaline nature. Splashes of CHEM-TOP 950 should be washed off immediately with clean water. Wear necessary gloves and dust mask.
