USES
CEM 241 is a self adhesive mixture designed for durable pinhole filling with a strong adhesion to surfaces in civil engineering applications. It is used for vertical, horizontal, and overhead application.
- Facades, columns and beams.
- Tunnels and water tanks.
- Rough concrete surfaces.
For filling of blow holes, cavities and re-aligning of walls prior to tiling and renovating existing commercial and residential structures. Excellent for re-profiling swimming pools, concrete tanks and filling the degradation resulting from chemical attacks of water additives.
CEM 241 prevents damages from mechanical impact and abrasion, environmental and freeze-thaw deterioration and chemical destruction from acids, caustic solutions and other chemical contamination.
APPLICATION
Coverage: coverage depends on the population of holes existing in the substrate and on the magnitude of deterioration of the surfaces.
Limitations: surface and application temperature should exceed 7°C. Apply only to a thoroughly cleaned and sound substrate. Mixing should be done mechanically to avoid formation of lumps. Avoid application in rain or contaminated surfaces. Do not add cement, sand, or accelerator to the mix.
Surface Preparation: all surfaces to receive CEM241 must be clean, free of oil, dust, paint, sealers, or any curing compounds. Surfaces contaminated with oil, grease, or dirt should be cleaned and treated with CHEM-CRETE CONCLEAN CCC060. Saturate the substrate with clean water prior to placement.
Mixing: mix the powder product with the bonding agent provided in the ratio 1: 4 powder. CEM241 must be mixed with a low speed mixer or with a drill fitted with a paddle. Add maximum of 2-3 lt. of water to the mix to achieve desired workability (if needed).
Application: CEM241 can be troweled or applied using a spatula for pin hole filling. For applications that require multi layers, make sure the preceding layer is stable, but not fully cured.
Protect surfaces from excessive heat and cold for 24 hours.
Cleaning: Clean all tools, equipment, etc. from CEM241 with clean water before the product reaches initial setting. Cured material may only be removed by mechanical means.
STORAGE
Store CEM241 in cool and dry storage facility. Do not expose to direct sunlight. Product has a shelf life of approximately 12 months if stored in a cool and dry place and in unopened bags.
SAFETY
CEM241 is a non-flammable and non-toxic in nature. Avoid contact with eyes and skin as it may cause irritation due to its alkaline nature. Splashes of CEM240 should be washed off immediately with clean water. Wear necessary gloves and dust mask.
