USES
CHEM-CRETE PIPE PLUG is designed to fill pipe penetrations, electrical conduits or large joints/cracks in concrete structures that are leaking water and exhibit some movement. May also be used in applications with high pressure or flowing water, as water plug.
In uncured form, CHEM-CRETE PIPE PLUG is an amber colored non-flammable liquid. When the material comes into contact with water, the grout expands and cures to form a tough fiber-filled closed cell polyurethane foam.

Reactivity: Free expansion up to 10-14 times its original size. Expansion is dependent upon pH level of water and confinement.
APPLICATION
Surface Preparation: remove and clean loose dust, dirt, oil, grease, etc. from the area to be plugged. In case of dry areas, spray mist water around the areas to be plugged.
Mixing: add accelerator completely into the Pipe Plug grout. Secure lid and mix thoroughly. Empty the mixture into the plastic bag supplied. Soak the inert fiber completely. Knead bag until all the liquid grout is absorbed by fiber.
CHEM-CRETE PIPE PLUG after activation becomes extremely sensitive to moisture and water. Ensure the area to be plugged is ready to receive CHEM-CRETE PIPE PLUG.
Before placing the fiber plug, soak in water to activate the grout. Stuff the plug in the pipe hole, penetration or joint immediately.
– Reaction time : 35-40 seconds
– Curing time : 3-5 minutes tack-free
– Ready to cut : After 1 hour
When the material comes into contact with water, the grout expands and cures to a tough fiber-filled closed cell polyurethane foam that is unaffected by corrosive environments.
Coverage varies depending on the size of opening, dimensions of pipe, joints, etc.
Limitations: application at ambient temperatures below approximately 5°C is not recommended. Exposure to temperatures exceeding 149°F (65°C) for prolonged periods is not recommended.
Cleaning: remove uncured CHEM-CRETE PIPE PLUG from tools and equipment with a suitable solvent such as Blended Solvents, Xylene, Toluene, etc. Cured material may only be removed mechanically.
Spills: Cover spill with absorbent materials. Remove from surface and deposit in an open empty container. Add equal amount of water and stir until foam develops. Allow at least 48 hours for curing before disposal.
Disposal: Cured waste may be buried in a landfill.
STORAGE
CHEM-CRETE PIPE PLUG is sensitive to moisture and to high storage temperatures. Store at temperatures 42°F (5°C) to 61°F (16°C) under dry conditions. Storage temperature should not exceed 81°F (27°C).
Shelf Life: Minimum One year in original unopened container. Once opened use as soon as possible.
SAFETY
After full curing, CHEM-CRETE PIPE PLUG is physiologically harmless. Avoid eye and repeated skin contact. Do not inhale vapors. Uncured material can cause irritation of the skin. The best precaution is to wear safety protective gloves, overall, mask and goggles while working.
Use of solvents should be avoided. CHEM-CRETE PIPE PLUG should be used only in well-ventilated areas.
First Aid:
- Skin contact: Wash thoroughly with soap and water.
- Eye contact: Flush immediately with clean running water and contact a Physician.
- Respiratory Problems: Remove affected person to fresh air immediately and contact a Physician.
- Hygiene: Wash hands immediately after use. Wash clothing before re-use.
- Ingestion: Rinse mouth with copious amount of water vigorously. Have victim drink approx. 12-24 ounces of water. Consult a Physician.
