Highway Agencies, worldwide, face challenges related to maintaining and preserving the massive investment in infrastructure and providing a safe and efficient transportation network. Chem-Crete products, both surface applied and inter-blended with the Portland cement concrete (PCC) can provide cost effective solutions to the most common problems including resistance to deicing salts, freeze/thaw damage, alkali-silica reactivity and many others.

Cities and municipalities are typically responsible for a wide variety of infrastructure types including water and wastewater treatment facilities, structures, monuments, streets and roads. The Chem-Crete’s product line has a solution for many of the recurring problems that consume both time and limited resources common to most local government agencies. For example, Chem-Crete Pavix CCC-100 can be applied to existing slabs-on-grade (concrete streets, sidewalks, parking areas and others) to greatly improve performance and longevity, particularly in freeze/thaw environments or where deicing salts are used.

Contractors are required to conform to both plans and specifications when constructing highways, airfields, parking areas, etc. They are frequently required to warranty their work for extended time periods against non-load related cracking and other forms of concrete deterioration. Chem-Crete has developed number of surface applied and internally mixed products to promote enhanced curing and minimize the influence of water and externally applied chemicals. In addition, specialty Chem-Crete products have been shown to minimize early plastic (drying) shrinkage cracking when used in conjunction with adequate curing thereby providing added insurance against this construction-related defect.
